Download Demo Application

STAN requires at least Java 5.

Despite the full product variants, STAN Demo doesn't allow you to select Jars and class folders from your local file system. Rather, the demo lets you choose from a set of open source applications. Some applications are bundled with the demo, but more applications will be published to the remote repository. With the demo, you can access the remote repository and download new applications to your local workspace.

Downloading the Application

You can download and use the demo for evaluation purposes. By downloading the demo, you accept the license terms.

Download STAN Demo (~19M) and unpack the ZIP archive to your file system.

This will create a directory <install_dir>/stan-demo containing all the files from the distribution.

Running your first Analysis

Select Menu "File - New...". Follow the wizard, choose a repository, select an application, then press "Finish". That's all!

Demo Limitations

The STAN demo has the following limitations:

  • The demo can only analyze the built in samples or applications from the demo repository.
  • Accessing the remote repository requires a direct connection (no proxy) to the internet.
  • The Ant reporting task is not included in the demo.
  • The demo does not support software updates.
  • The demo does not support switching the workspace.

Known Issues

  • We didn't test STAN on many Linux platforms. However, STAN is known to work with
    • Ubuntu 7.10, Kubuntu (Gutsy)
    • Debian 4.0
Please don't hesitate to report any problems/bugs/success stories! Want your favorite open source application added to the repository? Contact us!
